Armin Mueller-Stahl (born 17.12.1930). The actor played numerous leading and supporting roles at DEFA and on GDR television, across all film genres. He worked with well-known directors, including Frank Beyer, Egon Günther, Kurt Maetzig, Günter Reisch and
Ulrich Thein. He achieved great popularity through his versatility and quality. In 1980 he left the GDR, became a recognised actor in the Federal Republic and is one of the few German actors who also have a respectable career in Hollywood.
